Westfield Infants

Blossoming together through nurture and challenge

On behalf of all of the staff at Westfield Infant School, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you all via our school website.

We all recognise the importance of the time your child will spend at school and are keen to ensure your child is happy and achieving his or her potential in a secure, supportive, friendly, fun and stimulating environment.

Whilst your child is with us over the infant years of their educational learning journey, our aim is to provide an enjoyable, enriched, creative learning challenge curriculum; which is underpinned by the essential skills of reading, writing and mathematics.

At Westfield Infant School we aim:

• To provide a caring environment based on mutual trust and respect
• To provide a rich and stimulating learning environment
• To enable each child to achieve confidence and success in a broad and balanced curriculum
• To enable each child to live co-operatively with others, irrespective of age, gender, creed, class, colour or ability.

We offer a positive climate where children are encouraged to develop their learning, practise their skills and become confident learners through topic work and individual lessons. At Westfield Infant School, we actively promote the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our pupils.

We believe a productive education arises from a fruitful partnership between school and families. Each child at Westfield, is valued as an individual and learning is personalised to their needs. We are a truly close, nurturing and caring community with a real 'family ethos'.

Parents and carers can give their views of our school at any time of the school year and at the time of a school inspection using an online questionnaire called Parent View.

When our school is notified of its next Ofsted inspection, parents will be invited to give their views about the school to inspectors using the Parent View online facility as this has replaced Ofsted's paper questionnaire. Please register with an email address and a password at http://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk. Once your login has been activated, it only takes a few minutes to complete answers to 12 short questions about aspects such as bullying, the quality of teaching, level of homework, etc. Your views are important in helping inspectors make a decision about our school, and to help us know what is going well and what could be improved.

I hope you enjoy learning more about our welcoming, friendly infant school through our website. If you cannot find the information that you require please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,

Mrs Rachel Risorto
Headteacher
