Hello, I am Sarah Kench.  I have been involved in education on a voluntary basis since 1994 when I first moved back to the UK from living in Germany on a military base.  I helped run a local playgroup, helped out in my children’s nursery and early years classes before putting myself forward to join the governing body.

After my son started school in 1997, I began a new career in social housing which continues today.  I have experience in a variety of areas including, budget management, safeguarding; delivering training; staff recruitment; disciplinary matters; complaints management; legal procedures and court representation; mediation and conflict management; health and safety; staff management.

Throughout my employment I continued my involved in my children’s schools, I became Chair of Governors at Mary Swanwick Primary School and have been involved in several Ofsted inspection and appointments of staff including 4 Head Teachers.  I also joined the governing body of the Meadows Community Secondary School (now called Whittington Green).

I have two children; my daughter is a Primary School teacher in Chesterfield and my son is a Royal Navy marine engineer.  I am married to Roger a retired secondary deputy head and have two springer spaniels.
