Post:  Teaching and Learning Assistant

Grade: 7     Hours: 18 hours 30 minutes per week (Mon-Fri mornings and 2x afternoons)

Responsible to: Phase leader

Liaison with: Teaching Staff, Other Support Staff, Parents, Advisory Staff

All professional staff involved in the education and care of children

Purpose of the Post:

To carry out duties and responsibilities within the guidelines of the Derbyshire County Council agreed framework for Teaching Assistants and the Education Act 2002, with particular regard to the regulations made under Section 133 and the statutory responsibilities of the Governing Bodies of the school.

The successful candidate must have recent experience of working with children. They also need to be highly motivated, have strong communication skills, have English and Maths qualifications of a high standard and the knowledge to support pupils’ in their learning.

The post of Teaching Assistant in the school will involve working 1:1, with small groups and joint teaching whole classes (if cover is required) in Key Stage 1.

The children would like a TA who is fun, smiley and kind! Pupils are strongly supported by their parents/carers and families.
