Ashgate Croft is a large and complex area special school.  We provide education and care for pupils who hold an EHCP with Autism, moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties including those with associated communication, behavioural and physical needs. 

This vacancy is for the position of Class Teacher (Upper Department) and will be to work as group of 9 pupils aged between 14 – 19 years with SLD/PMLD and complex medical needs. The students are working between P2 – L1 and follow a Foundation Learning Curriculum. You may be expected to work with other groups of pupils, dependent on the future needs of the school. This is a part time maternity cover position.

You should –

  • Have successful teaching experience in either a mainstream or special school setting;
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have sound knowledge and experience of working with pupils with SEN;
  • Have a positive approach to challenge and change.
